Everything I've done, I've volunteered for many many years in Brinnington, I did it because I needed or wanted to do it. The first thing I wanted was a nursery some 50 odd years ago. So I started campaigning for that, we got that. I know it makes a difference from what people say to us. Like bank holidays, the Knit and Natter, we never shut because people say, you're not going to close are you? And if it just makes a difference to one person, it's made a difference, hasn't it? We lose money on this, but that doesn't matter because we don't do it for money. Watching other people and other people's comments, I love it when they argue who's going to win the washing up liquid because it just, it promotes just people talking and you know, and the daft songs we sing. It's memories all the time, it's memories. Come for the connection, the community connection and we get a coffee just to see all these beautiful lovely people and just to enjoy myself really. Until you try and you don't know do you? Do it. Ask advice. There's loads of places, there's loads of people that can do these things. I think if you ask anywhere, the community in Brinnington always has been a good one. We get a lot of bad press, a lot of bad press, which is very sad because there's a lot of good that goes on in Brinnington.
