Hi everybody. Welcome to Stockport Libraries Storytime. today I am going to be reading a story
called mixed, and it's by Arree Chung on published by MacMillan Children's
Books. In the beginning, there were three colours,
yellows, reds and blues. Reds
were the loudest, yellows with the brightest,
and blues were the coolest. Everyone
lived in colour harmony until one afternoon when
a red said, reds are the best, the yellows
disagreed. No, we're the best because were the brightest, the
blues were too cool to even respond. The colours decided to
live in separate parts of the city. But then
one day a yellow noticed a blue and something happened.
I feel so happy when I'm with you and I feel so calm when I'm near you.
Yellow and blue became inseparable. Life felt so vibrant. Not
all the other colours were happy about it. colours shouldn't mix. I don't like yellows.
Effect on blue. That blue isn't bright enough for yellow. But
yellow and blue loved each other so much they decided to mix.
together they created a new colour, they named her Green. Green
was bright like yellow and calm like blue. But really she was a colour
all of her own. Everyone was fascinated. She's so cute
i've never seen anything like her before. Even the Grumpy Colours fell in love with green.
The colours began seeing new possibilities. Soon other colours mixed and
mixed and mixed and mixed. There was so many
new colours and lots of new names. Be careful jade, don't
forget your glasses lavender. have fun Amber. The
old neighbourhoods of redville, blue town and yellow heights didn't make sense anymore.
Everyone wants you to live together. So they rebuilt the city. The
new city was full of colour. It wasn't perfect, but it was home. So
for the first song today, I thought we'd sing if you're happy and you know it. if you're ready.
if you're happy and you know it clap your hands, If you're happy and you know it Clap your hands
If you're happy and you know it and you really want to show it, If you're happy and you know it, clap your
hands. If you're happy and you know it stamp your feet, If you're
happy and you know it, stamp your feet. If you're happy and you know it and you really want
to show it, If you're happy and you know it stamp your feet. if you're happy and you know
it shout Hurray! if you're happy and you know it shout hurray! If
you're happy and you know it and you really want to show it, If your happy and you know it shout hurray!
If you're happy and you know it do all three, Clap your hands, stamp your feet. Hurray!
If you're happy and you know it do all three, Clap your hands, stamp your feet. Hurray!
if you're happy and you know it, and you really want to show it If you're happy and you know it do all three,
Clap your hands, stamp your feet. Hurray! And for our last song
ive got another friend with me today some might find him a bit scary, He's not
scary really. Shall we sing incey wincey spider.
incey wincey spider climbed up the water spout,
down came the rain and washed the spider Out came
the sunshine and dried up all the rain and incey wincey spider climbed
up the spout again. thank you very very much for joining us and we'll see you again very soon.
Bye.
