Hi everyone.welcome back to Stockport Libraries Storytime. today's story is a very special one. It's
called the Turtle's Tail. This book has been written and made by Caitlin Atherton from the plastic
shed in Stockport who has been very kind to lend it to us so that we can read it to you.
Ocean adventure I'm welcome to the sea It's time to go on a journey Are youHello ocean adventurer
And welcome to the sea
It?s time to go on a journey
Are you ready to follow me?
I'm a loggerhead sea turtle who lives in the ocean
Swell. I hope you'll listen closely as I have a tale to tell. You
see all of this plastic in the coral reef below. They used
to be so clean But that was years ago Now
who lived with plastic floating all around from the surface of the
ocean to the yellow sandy ground. But if you helped a little No
matter how big or small, every action that you take could help.
The ocean and us all. You see plastic is
not good. plastic bags and bottles are bag. When plastic gets into the ocean,
it makes animals sad. We all eat up this plastic
Which makes our tummies sore
We munch it up by accident, Until we can't eat anymore
It even hurts the sea birds Like the puffins up above
When I dive into the ocean for a snack, I think I'll love.
We all think plastic is food, To us it looks the same
We cannot tell the difference. We aren't the ones to blame.
Even when we don't eat it. It tumbles around our tails. It wraps around us Harp Seals Even us giant Bow Head Whales
So
So please, will you help us? We can't do this all alone. We have
to save our ocean is the place that we call home. for if you
help the little No matter how big or small every action that
you take Could help the ocean and us all
so we need your help to clean it. It's not our fault if there we have to
take every piece and move it all elsewhere. But
we can't just dig a hole and throw the plastic in, for it will make the ground
sick. If we use it as a bin, just
don't drop it in the ocean or send it out on a ship. for the ocean. doesn't
want it to stay a rubbish tip. So
what can we do with it? The ocean is in pain. Maybe you can
think of a way to use plastic again. So each and every
one of you can help in some small way Reduce, reuse, recycle.
Each gives animals a chance to stay. So maybe try not to
use it and the ocean might just win. But when you really need some
put it in the recycling bin. because if we all helped a little no
matter how big or small, every action that you take will help.
The ocean and us all. well, thank you very much for joining this again today
we will see you again soon, bye
