Hi everyone, Welcome to Stockport Libraries Storytime! Today Story is called The littlest
things give the loveliest hugs. It's by Mark Sperring and Maddy Frost.
How do you do it? My sweet little bug, You're ever so clever at giving a hug.
You snuggle so nicely, It really is true, nobody nowhere can cuddle like you.
When we cosy up in our sweet comfy nest, you're so squishy squashy, your simply the best.
There's something about you that's perfectly snug, Yes, the littlest things give the loveliest hugs.
So come here this instant my duckling, my dear. Just waddle up to me i need you right here,
Show me that wonderful thing that you do, so nobody nowhere can cuddle like you.
You must have learned hugging from small, fluffy things, with fur soft as velvet or white downy wings.
Your hugs are a triumph, my darling, my dove.
For the littlest things give the loveliest hugs.
So down in our burrow, we'll cosy up close, with leaves wrapped around us we're warmer than toast.
I'll sing to you softly, I'll squeak bill and coo.
for nobody nowhere can cuddle like you.
So mummies and daddies throughout the land, we know that it's true. Yes, we all understand.
that nestled in burrows
or curled under rugs, the littlest things give the loveliest hugs.
So for today's first song I thought we could do row, row, row your boat. So you can either do this with a partner, or on your own. Are you ready, Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream
merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily Life is but a dream,
Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream. If you see a crocodile, don't forget to scream. Arrgh!
We'll all look out for that Polar bear.
Row, row, row your boat gently down the river. If you see a polar bear don't forget to shiver.
We'll keep our eyes peeled for the lion.
Row, row, row your boat gently to the shore. If you see a lion don't forget to roar!
and then we'll have a look out for that little mouse.
Row, row, row your boat gently down the creek.
If you see a little mouse, don't forget to squeak! and lastly, we'll go through the puddle.
Row, row, row your boat gently through the puddle.
If you see someone you know stop and give them a cuddle,
And for our last song, I thought we could do Twinkle, Twinkle. So if you get your stars ready.
Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are.
Up above the world so high.
like a diamond in the sky.
Twinkle, twinkle little star. How I wonder what you are.
Thank you very much for joining us today. We'll see you again soon. Bye bye.
