In Adult Social Care in Stockport we're responsible for supporting individuals with care and support needs to be as independent as possible. For example providing occupational therapy equipment, social work assessment and support, safeguarding adults and supporting people with a learning disability or mental health needs to live more independently in their own home. I really enjoy working in a multidisciplinary approach with our partners to enable people to live their best lives possible. There's some great people here with lots of knowledge and experience all engaged in positively making a difference to the lives of people with care and support needs in Stockport. I see great opportunity for us to continue working together and make further improvements so that we're getting in early, helping people to help themselves earlier and preventing their reliance on our services and supporting their greater independence. I feel really privileged to work as the Director of Adult Social Care in Stockport. We're on a journey of continual improvement and I would like all of us to work together, to continue to deliver excellence in adult social care, to make sure that we're using the resources we have available with partners, to continue to listen to the voice of people with lived experience and their carers and really use this to continually drive that improvement forward. So our service truly reflects the lives of the people who live in Stockport.
