Hello and welcome to the Work and Skills offer for Live Well and Making Every Contact Count when it comes to conversations around learning, work and skills support. There is information, help and support available for residents and frontline workers as part of Live Well and research shows the value of helping to lift families and individuals out of poverty and improving outcomes for residents. With so much on offer across Stockport, residents can often need support to help identify and access the right services. The Live Well pages have information that's accessible for anyone interested in learning work and skills. There's support and advice available for those in work, seeking employment or just looking to improve their skills and a great way of getting specialist advice is through the Work and Skills navigators. Using the Live Well pages, you can direct people to the Work and Skills offer and find the Work and Skills navigators in the Work and Skills support tab. There's an email address, contact number and an online inquiry form for residents to use to get in touch with the Work and Skills navigators and they are happy to meet residents in their local library, family hub or community space and anywhere else that is safe and suitable in their local area. The Work and Skills navigators will meet the residents to discuss their current situation and requirements, identify the right support to suit their needs and make a warm handover to that service on behalf of the resident. With Work and Skills drop-ins happening across the borough, a great way of finding out about the times and locations of the drop-in events is to use the What'sĀ Happening in Stockport events calendar. Select the section named Training and Employment and this will give information on the times and locations of the drop-in events and residents and frontline workers are welcome to attend any of these sessions. The information about the range of services available across Stockport can be found on the Live Well directory and by searching Employment.
