Hello welcome to the short toolkit video on Live Well and our offer to residents around money. First of all people's finances, cost of living, debt welfare can be very private, personal and making every contact count is not intended to pry unnecessarily into people's personal lives. However it is an expectation that if conversations do come up in a Live Well space around money that we'll be able to direct our local residents to the fantastic offer for money that we've got on our Live Well pages. Expertise is easy to access because we've got a fantastic cost of living helpline. There's a huge amount of self help information as well on the Live Well pages as well as lots of community and voluntary and faith sector groups out there as well. However lots and lots of situations the expertise that our Residents Advice Service have got through the cost of living helpline is where to direct residents first. They're on 0161 474 2140 you can find them on the Live Well web pages under the money section and scroll down to find out more where the cost of living helpline is. It's a Monday to Friday non-emergency line that can give out that information help and support and direct people to trusted local providers so they can get the expertise that they need. Benefits information advice is also available on those Live Well web pages. It can be a very technical and challenging subject so the Welfare Rights team do have their own pages of information for residents to search. Again our cost of living helpline is a very good place to go and get that initial conversation for a resident to get the advice. Citizens Advice Bureau can also be very helpful in this area providing their expertise in lots of local places and spaces. Emergency food is also part of the Live Well offer. Accurate information on the current offer from food banks, pantries, community food schemes is all online under those pages in the Live Well section for money. Again residents may choose to research this themselves or they could speak to the cost of living team on the phone as well for this information advice. There is self-referral and easy referral from professional groups as part of our food bank offer in Stockport. There are two different food bank networks within Stockport so check the right pages for the up-to-date information. There's also other schemes that are not about emergency food but about better budgeting such as community grocery schemes in the pantries. Energy costs can be very challenging for people in Stockport. Again there's a wealth of information on the Live Well pages. Have a look under those cost of living pages around energy costs. There are national schemes, schemes run by people's individual energy providers, independent groups and services that help navigate in this area as well. Again the cost of living helpline can refer residents to trusted local providers when people are struggling to budget and meet their energy costs. Information, potentially vouchers in certain circumstances could also be accessed. So check those pages and again the cost of living helpline is a fabulous tool for people to access to get that additional expertise. There's a wider directory of support through Live Well. This is a dedicated section for voluntary community faith social enterprise groups within our Live Well directories related to finance. This again is the community grocers, the pantries, local debt advisors, national support services that are out there. Keep yourself up to date with the diversity of that support offer and signpost residents to have a look at that directory so they can choose which services out in the communities are best suited for their situation. Keep checking the additional links and services at the bottom of the cost of living pages on the Live Well and Council website, We can only advise our residents to have a look, do their own research and information. We can't recommend any particular services. Contact the experts, seek those groups that work for them due to their personal circumstances. This could be around holiday activity and food for their children, uniform schemes that come out at different times of the year.
