We support people with enduring complex mental health in Stockport. It's a very varied, it's not just people with a single diagnosis a lot of the time. So there's a lot of unpicking to be done, isn't there Sam, of how we actually work out where the person's needs are and how to best support them and how to really understand them. Having all the teams and the managers and all the workers on each team working closely together means nothing gets lost in paperwork or emails. There's conversations that go on and we've seen a lot of really positive improvement. It creates empowerment. Our team provides that ability to enhance those independent skills and empower them so that they are able to meet those needs independently. You know, the joint working absolutely supports that. That person's put at the centre of everything, the centre of their support and that their voice is heard, which is the key element of it all. You feel really supported and listened to, which is one of the reasons why I thought I would want to be a permanent member. The one thing I really love about mental health is that it's so varied. You can have one situation one day and a different situation the next. We manage a lot of risk. We manage a lot of really difficult situations. When we make even the slightest bit of difference to people and we can keep their mental health and their ability to be able to cope stable and increase their independence, there's no feeling like that, is there? No. It's a great feeling. And it's that long-term work which allows you to see the positive impact that you're putting in somebody's life.
