The main focal point for us in neighbourhoods is to be the first point of contact ready for Adult Social Care. We work with people of all ages from 18 to end of life. People that have been marginalised really and, you know, for whatever reason they haven't been able to form those social networks that maybe we all take for granted. We work alongside lots of other third-party organisations that support us with some of the more practical elements of issues, like going into people's homes, helping with clearing properties, helping people with practical issues. You know as human beings we can be quite stubborn so sometimes we have to break down some barriers but once you get there and you can see someone who may have been isolated for a number of years and we can get them back out into community engage with other people you can see how such an impact that can have on an individual's life especially for the older generation that may have kind of lost friends and loved ones it can help you know a new lease of life. We're doing assessments in the community here and supporting people to try and improve people's lives really and I think that's the main thing that we're all here to do. Social work is the ability to work with people to go in and you know make even if it's just for a short time an impact to help pick someone back up. For me I enjoy now as a team manager you know really observing you know staff flourishing and encouraging them to to be the best that they can. Every time you come into the office you're around lots of positive people. We're all very supportive as a team, aren't we? It's different work every day so you don't quite know what you're coming into, who you're going to be going out to visit, or who you might be speaking to. It's just a good variety, isn't it?
